Wood Burning Hot Tub
A wood burning hot tub is something that not too many people have heard of. The far more popular kind of hot tub
is one that is powered with electricity. These are available for in ground and above ground. These are fine for
most people, as they are very easy to use but they do have some drawbacks. A hot tub that burns wood for its heat
source is a perfect fit for many people. Let’s look at them a little more.
Most things that need power around our homes are powered by electricity. Electricity is very convenient and
generally cheap for your average every day things. A hot tub, however, can require a lot of power to keep warm. If
you live in an area that gets cold winters this can be a real problem. Hot tubs that are to be run outside in the
winter when it is freezing require a lot of electricity to warm up and keep warm. This can really add on to your
electrical bill. Enter the wood burning hot tub.
Wood has been used as a source for heat for thousands of years. It works very well for that. Wood is very
reliable, cheap, and plentiful. But, it is not normally used as a heat source for a hot tub. The normal hot tub has
all kinds of jets for massaging which would require electricity so they may as well be heated with electricity.
But, there are situations when electricity is not the best option for a hot tub.
There are many places that do not have a steady supply of electricity. Remote locations, cabins, and many other
places may not have a constantly supply of power. If you want the ultimate relaxation power of a hot tub you will
have to find another heat source. The perfect option here is clearly wood. A wood burning stove can easily be
attached to a hot tub in some way. Some hot tubs have the stove actually in the hot tub with all the water. There
is an opening in the top of the stove so you can build and maintain a fire. Other ones have the fireplace on the
outside and have pipes running to the heat source. The cool water is drawn towards the stove, heated, and then
returned to the hot tub.
A wood burning hot tub is also a very quite option for people who like the very Zen like features that a hot tub
can possess.
